"You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed."

from "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

HAPPY UPDATE!

Little colt Tyson was foaled on May 2 on our Elbert County property (at daughter Teri's ranch). Tyson was rushed to the emergency vet May 3 with a bad infection due to his mother not producing enough colostrom in her milk. After weeks of worry and help from folks like you, he is now a healthy and happy little colt.

The best news is that he has recently been adopted! Baily and her mother Lisa, who are boarding other horses at Teri's, are now the proud owners of this little man whose name is now Rocky.More photos of Rocky can be seen here.

We are a small privately owned operation and have been rescuing animals for 25 years.

We rescue mainly large animals, including horses, goats, llamas and even some Zebus (Indian Sacred Cattle that we rescued from the Denver Zoo Krall exhibit when they closed it down). Our animals come through various sources: from families that can't keep their pets to organizations such as the Zoo who need to "dispose" of animals when an exhibit is closed down to animals that have been neglected or abused. WE ARE A NO KILL RESCUE.

We currently finance the care for all of our animals out of pocket and rely on donations to help keep the animals happy and healthy. All donated money goes strictly to the care and feeding of the animals. We do not take any compensation for the work we do. Please donate to help the animals!

Want to visit us and just can't find the time? John made a great, funny Smilebox slideshow for you to enjoy. Don't miss it!

Go to Meet the Animals and read about their life stories. You can also visit our farm in person by appointment only. Please call us at 303-841-8338 to make an appointment.
